like, i know it’s widely accepted (is it canon?) that tlt characters have kiwi accents but i so clearly hear ianthe calling harrow “Harry” in an american accent, something about it makes the nickname even more annoying and obnoxious in my mind. idk if it’s because i’m american so i read in my own accent but i can’t hear harry in any other accent it just doesn’t feel as effective
I have to agree that an american accent would make ianthe more obnoxious but personally I can’t read her dialogue without remembering moira quirk’s narration for the audiobooks. She gives ianthe an EXTREMELY obnoxious posh british accent, and I’m very attached to it, even though as someone with a strong regional accent, I support tamsyn’s make everyone sound kiwi agenda
the funniest part is that my friend who’s been in the homestuck fandom since 2013 listened to the gtn audiobook and immediately went “that’s just vriska with a british accent” and she’s RIGHT
so either moira quirk is a homestuck (cursed and comfortingly unlikely option) OR everyone just agrees on how Those Girls sound (immensely funny option)

the 3rd do cannonically have an accent different than Gideon’s and described as posh
There was a peculiarly nasal lilt to his voice, a sort of posh elongated vowel that made it rathah.
I don’t know enough English to tell if it’s meant to be australian vs kiwi or straight-up British.
