gideon definitely would be thrust into adulthood not knowing how to cook but i think she'd eventually take a knack to it just because she loves food and wants to make delicious things
I think it would take her a LONG time to learn how to cook, with absolutely no skills. i honestly think harrow would be better at it as long as she doesn’t have to taste anything because she’s so precise. I’m honestly torn if Gideon would ever become a “good” cook or if she would be a good cook in a modern au.

I just think that with Gideon being interested in the Way Food Tastes that she would be a better cook than harrow in a domestic setting (though I agree it would take her a while to figure out) bc Harrow is precise but does not care what it tastes like? Like, Harrow would be good at baking. She could follow recipes! But in terms of Freeform Cooking I’m Throwing Dinner Together Gideon can think well on her feet so she’d pick it up.
I dont think harrow would care enough about food to Become Good At Cooking, but she would enjoy making things for Gideon that she knows Gideon likes. :)
Ok I relent! But I would totally read a fic that takes place of them being horrible at domestic tasks for the first year of peace

All work no play makes for a girl in THESIS, here are still a few fanarty things I managed to draw in between piles of work
I can’t stop drawing Alecto, and ive binged the tlt audiobook series again. I think i literally have brainworms.
Also I’ve been thinking a lot about harrow After, and it just makes me want to cry i love her so much. I read a fic where she starts a farm but now for the life of me i can’t find it! if anyone has a link id love you forever
Maybe I just don’t get it, but I don’t understand the John Gaius hate! He has done horrible things but he was trying to save the Earth, save everyone, and everyone who could do something was fighting him and his team every step of the way. And then the only people he could count on suddenly they weren’t a team of researchers but instead a group of people under John because he was granted the power of necromancy.
The horrible alienation of going from “Us” to “you and us behind you” and He let his temper and vindication get away from him while a group of armed conspiracy theorists were rushing his home and his best friends in the world.
He could never just focus on saving the earth, and he always on some aspect was alienated, and then suddenly he’s the only one left, with a creature so far removed from everything he ever knew. You can argue it was a hell of his own making but how much free will did he have? What about the governments? the rich? the Donors? what about there exacerbation of the death of Earth.
And then finally he can resurrect people but not as friends, as disciples, is there anyone in 10,000 years he could ever be vulnerable or intimate with? is it any wonder his decision making skills have been warped? When you’re god and a savior to everyone wouldn’t it be impossible not to start treating the people in your life as your objects? Especially with the alternative of being alone again?
He’s truly the only one who understands being alone, in a way no one else could ever understand. How do you deal with that? Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to never let that happen again? I’m not saying it’s right or moral but isn’t it understandable?
