Maybe I just don’t get it, but I don’t understand the John Gaius hate! He has done horrible things but he was trying to save the Earth, save everyone, and everyone who could do something was fighting him and his team every step of the way. And then the only people he could count on suddenly they weren’t a team of researchers but instead a group of people under John because he was granted the power of necromancy.

The horrible alienation of going from “Us” to “you and us behind you” and He let his temper and vindication get away from him while a group of armed conspiracy theorists were rushing his home and his best friends in the world.

He could never just focus on saving the earth, and he always on some aspect was alienated, and then suddenly he’s the only one left, with a creature so far removed from everything he ever knew. You can argue it was a hell of his own making but how much free will did he have? What about the governments? the rich? the Donors? what about there exacerbation of the death of Earth.

And then finally he can resurrect people but not as friends, as disciples, is there anyone in 10,000 years he could ever be vulnerable or intimate with? is it any wonder his decision making skills have been warped? When you’re god and a savior to everyone wouldn’t it be impossible not to start treating the people in your life as your objects? Especially with the alternative of being alone again?

He’s truly the only one who understands being alone, in a way no one else could ever understand. How do you deal with that? Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to never let that happen again? I’m not saying it’s right or moral but isn’t it understandable?
