so um. ya kno how muir likes to do her thing with heavy handed foreshadowing? the multiple times muir writes about harrow theoretically killing ianthe in a substantially similar way to mercy’s attempt at killing john…

….. three times… and then harrow’s intimate description of ianthe’s ribcage/clavicle in the bone arm scene… i think i have a bold speculation about what might happen in the next two books…
gideon the ninth is good because it presents the inherent comedy of one character raised in a catholic death cult in space and taking it really, REALLY seriously and another character raised in the same catholic death cult in space and being like “lol this is so fucking stupid”
other tlt bloggers, playing 4D space chess: who is nona? what lies beyond the river? how is perfect lyctorhood achieved?
me, losing at checkers: where did gideon get the tit mags
No but I don’t think you understand how obsessed I am with this question. Like you have to imagine that the NUNS of the ninth house did not amass a library of skin mags, so gideon HAD to have been requisitioning them. Which means. That harrow was sitting there APPROVING them for transport from offworld. They were designed for each other
my other favorite thing about this is that harrow has READ it. she says “some of your comics are very nasty” which implies that a) she’s read them b) she likes at least some of them, maybe even the nasty ones. harrow repeatedly approved these things for transport and presumably read each one as they came. the whole time pretending “i hate this, i hate griddle, i’m reading this out of hatred” and obviously lying horribly to herself but also she is incredibly repressed. soulmates, the two of them. i’m obsessed with everything about gideon’s titty mags
okay everyone i have Cracked the Code gosh muir is so good with foreshadowing :0 coronabeth on the cover working a minimum wage food industry job confirmed
I’m officially recanting as a griddlebod truther and joining the harrowbod community. It should take six years to grow hair that long. Ianthe, what did you do to her poor scalp
