The fucking layers of Barbie Alecto
- A man forcing his own ideas of beauty onto a woman.
- The woman being the soul of the Earth itself and the ideals being based on a literal plastic doll. Plastic. The thing that notably slowly kills the Earth.
- The profound repulsion she feels with the supposedly beautiful body thrust upon her by a man.
- Barbies being considered the ideal of beauty either way and Alecto being unhappy with the looks.
- John’s mortal enemy being capitalism and him still basing Alecto’s body on one of the most sold toys ever. His own inherent lack of immunity to capitalism. Something something full circle.
- Speaking fo which, the body of the soul of Earth being based on a doll. A toy. A literal plaything.
There is SO MUCH to Barbie Alecto I am chewing glass.
I’m sure someone else could make this into a proper coherent analysis but this is as coherent as I’m able to get when talking about The Locked Tomb thank you for understanding
