hey did we ever figure out why tf harrow told herself to silence and/ or kill judith in that one letter. like what was that about. also, while we’re on the subject of letters, why did she tell herself to examine ianthe’s jaw and tongue to see if they’d been replaced???
oh i guess the thing about ianthe’s jaw was because she ensorcelled it before the “brain surgery” so that ianthe couldn’t explain about gideon…
but the only thing i can think of re: judith is that this would also prevent judith from talking about gideon? but then why did harrow tell herself to silence judith but not corona or camilla, etc??? is it because she’s a necromancer, someone who could figure out what harrow did to her brain??? i feel like that’s overkill tho. like girl let me in on your thought process bc i’ve got nothing
i’m guessing she silenced Judith to keep her from talking about Gideon and although she wasn’t allowed to kill Corona due to Ianthe by the letter she wrote herself about Corona (pg 319) harrow was was allowed to ‘silence her’ just not cause her pain. with Camilla i’m assuming harrow explained in the letter to her to not talk about it Gideon and that harrow (maybe uncharacteristically so tbh this might be farfetched) trusted that she wouldn’t? there’s a moment after harrow does the mouth fuse that Camilla goes “i warned them already” which makes me feel a little more confident in that theory but it could totally turn out to be something completely different
I think that’s it–she explained to Camilla in the letter–and I think that Harrow *would* trust Camilla here, at least with respect to Gideon’s life. Even when Harrow regains her memory, her first thought re: Camilla is –
“It was a blow to her dignity all over again, her unconscious gracelessness to Camilla Hect; a girl whom, in reality, she should have taken by the hands and thanked profusely for every time she tried to save her cavalier.”
Not that Harrow necessarily knows this going in, but Camilla is also very much like Harrow at this point, in that she’s going to her own extreme measures to save her necromancer, a fact that she must keep secret from those around her (probably not Judith and Corona, but definitely the BoE).
way down in the future harrow and gideon definitely retell the final hours of canaan house differently.
gideon’s version of events is pretty much the truth but with like, harrow being 10% more damsel in distress. harrow denies everything that occurred and insists that she had everything under control and gideon just jumped on a fence to spite her.
nobody knows what to believe and camilla hect is the only reliable third-party eye witness but is dedicated to neutrality. for now. gideon has been offering increasingly extravagant bribes to tell the truth and harrow is still trying to come up with a way to get camilla to agree to take a vow of the sewn tongue to this day.
sorry you can tell exactly how inebriated i am based on the varying quality of these comics but i am now obsessed with imagining pyrrha dve babysitting this dumbfuck and cannot help when inspiration strikes
You know what actually the idea of a story told entirely from a first person POV where the word ‘I’ doesn’t even appear until the halfway point is incredibly romantic. A story so focused on the storyteller’s love, the self is nothing but an afterthought, a minor character in her own tale

Anyway Harrow the Ninth is quite literally a love letter from Gideon to Harrow
Of all the things Gideon and Harrow call one another I’m still mooning over “first flower of my House” like. Fuck, Harrow, how long have you been holding that gentleness in? As cruel as Harrow has been to Gideon before, now when their souls have been bared and they’re covered in blood and about to die Harrow touches Gideon’s face and calls her precious, beautiful, and hers. This wiseass meathead with huge biceps who can literally pick Harrow up with one hand, the first flower of her house.
I fully recognise none of you may be around any more now that the female-identified nipples have been scourged, but should you still roam these un-nippled halls I will shamelessly update you on my novel. One stops feeling guilt at self-promotion when your book’s on the way; there comes a point where you can no longer even stop, like a shark swims. You understand that to cease is to expire.
This link is to the cover of my book. The disembodied head up there is the head of my heroine. Please click through and examine. For sticking with me on this route, I will give you special information about this novel I don’t give anyone else; if you have read my fanfiction, or my short stories, or even my fanfiction and my short stories, I want to sit down warmly next to you and tell you exactly what kind of old bullshit I’m serving up to you all over again.
GIDEON THE NINTH is the story of seventeen dolts in a space shack trying to become God’s dead best friends. Here are some of the traditional heroic tropes I went with.

* ASTEROID JUGGALOS HAVE A BONE RELIGION (That old chestnut!! - Ed.)
* TWINS BUT ONE TWIN IS A BEEFALO AND THE OTHER TWIN IS A POT OF YOPLAIT ZERO PERCENT YOGHURT
* HERO’S QUEST TO BECOME A NECROSOLDIER SPACE HUNKETTE ENDS PREMATURELY WHEN NO-TIDDY GOTH WITCH TRICKS HER INTO THE HUNGER GAMES (Biblical - Ed.)
I have also put in a Sorting Hat system, just for you! One day you could align yourself with one of my beautiful Space Houses, which consist of:
