Of course I’m looking forward to Harrow and Gideon gazing intensely into their own eyes in each others’ faces and hugging for two uninterrupted hours and kissing with tongue, but also I think, in order to cement her character growth and demonstrate their eternal and undying love, Harrow should laugh out loud at one (1) of Gideon’s jokes
can’t sleep and I’m just lying here thinking about baby gideon and harrow when they were too young to hate each other
gideon standing up in her cot talking gibberish to tiny harrow in the next one who stares at her intently through the bars with big dark eyes
harrow following gideon around the nursery like a little shadow when she learns to walk, watching everything gideon does and copying her gestures
gideon showing harrow how to use a toy, or sharing a half-eaten slightly soggy biscuit with her, before someone separates the cherished little reverend daughter from the cuckoo
You know maybe we don’t want to go there too much but I think deep down there’s something very cathartic about a lesbian dying to advance someone else’s plot because that’s all she thinks she’s good for and then the next installment in the series being a drawn out agonised scream of loss at the hole her absence leaves in the universe
Gideon the Ninth really went ‘the pinnacle of my existence is sacrificing myself for unrequited love and my reward will be to live forever in her memory and that’s more than enough’ and then Harrow the Ninth (and Harrowhark the First) grabbed her by the collar and shook her like a etch-a-sketch and said ‘no I won’t let you you’re worth so much more than that your life is worth breaking the laws of heaven and earth to preserve’ and I just think that’s neat
