“One flesh – one end.”

So, I finished Gideon the Ninth and it was real good.

I’ve been working on more NDA stuff and it’s kept me really busy. Plus depression has been kicking my butt to boot. Drawing this today felt really good… looking forward to finding my groove.

Harrowhark from Gideon the ninth?

Character breakdown:

1. How I feel about Harrow:

Harrow is really interesting and I’m grateful the next book will be focused on her development. In gtn we saw her through Gideon eyes, we don’t know if she has a guilt complex for real, nor how strong her necromancy is (especially now). I can see many aspects of my personality in Harrow (the tendency to isolate herself, pushing her body and mind to the brink to achieve what she wants) so I felt close to her from page 1.

2. All the poeple i ship romantically with Harrow:

Ianthe: they are both acid as lemons and obsessed with power. I can see these two having a complicated relationship.

Pallamedes: a couple of cute necromancer nerds? That absurd dispise each other but end up working together because overwise they will die? I smell an enemy-to-lovers dynamic that is *chef kiss*

Alecto: this is more a theory but I think the girl in the locked tomb is 1) Alecto the Ninth and 2) the daughter of the Emperror. I can imagine Harrow opening the tomb, whisking Alecto away and then show up in front of the Emperror hand in hand with his hated daughter.

3. My non-romantic OTP for Harrow:

Gideon: people will hate me, for me Harrow and Gideon have a beautiful platonic relationship, but that’s it. I can’t imagine them being lovers, they are different in many aspects (personality, ideas, goals) and I don’t think they would work as a couple.

Camilla: their dialogues shouted bromance from a thousand miles.

Magnus: if Harrow knew him better he would be father figure for her, especially because I don’t think Primhark was the best of the parents.

The Emperror: again, father figure. I have this scene in my head where Harrow is crying and he wipes away her tears and tells her everything is going to be okay

The 3 Lyctors: i somehow hope one of them will befriend Harrow and help her go on after what happened in the House of Canaan.

4. My unpopular opinion on Harow:

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion because the gtn fandom is pretty small up to now. Anyway, I think Harrow should move on with Gideon. She surely was an important part of her life, but as the Emperror said what Gideon did can’t be undone. I really hope they talk one last time (maybe through a strange necromantic channel), but Harrow has to accept Gideon’s sacrifice and find another person to rely on (that girl is too lonely).

5. One thing I wish would happen / had happened to Harrow:

Based on my unpopular opinion I wish Harrow would find happiness and be okay with herself. Her possible guilt complex is something she has to overcome, her tendency to isolate as well.
