rereading nona the ninth and. that absolutely devastating “nobody locks me up anywhere” line? that comes immediately after gideon expaining that the hallway was warded because a) she was, for obvious reasons, a liability and b) ianthe was pissed at her. that line isn’t even untrue in a subtextual sense. it’s literally not an accurate description of her current situation. maybe the bedroom door wasn’t locked but there sure was an entropy field in the hallway.
