And they used to know those eyes as his, but of course wouldn’t after the resurrection. And in HtN there was a semi-long span of time before the Lyctoral process was created, when they would’ve realized that that’s what causes the eye swapping, before they realized that Alecto’s uncanny, terrifying eyes were Johns in truth
