reading posts made by the locked tomb fandom having never read the books is so wild. Like on one hand i think people must be exadurating but on the other i’ve been in some batshit fandoms before so all this could be entirely plausible.

why did the tiny bone lesbian give herself a lobotomy???? did jesus call someone a slut?? what does that mean?? is everyone really a lesbian? do people switch bodies or get reborn or something what is going on?

As someone who had the exact same experience and eventually caved and started reading the books(currently a fee chapters into harrow the ninth): Yes, cannon really is thát batshit crazy and confusing. It is the kind of story you want to read while maintaining a conspiracy board, but is still fun to read without. The writing is increadibly witty, the plotpoints mindblowing, the emotional tention soul shattering, these books wil traumatise you and you will beg for more.

And yes, everyone is a lesbian.

All you needed to say was everyone is a lesbian i’m down

(no but really everyone who reblogged this can give themselves a pat on the back for successfully indoctrinating me into your necromancer lesbian cult, ill go get the books as soon as i can it sounds really fun)

yess!! welcome to the cult!

(feel free to yell at me when you have reached the end of book 1)

Long overdue since life stuff was keeping me from consuming the absolute glory that is gideon the ninth quicker, nevertheless, I return to yell at you.

OH MY GOD??????!!! OH MY GOD???? HOLY SHIT the twists the turns the- oh my god SHE JUST- AND THEN SHE- WHAT THE FUCK

i literally just closed it and i don’t know if reading this is the best or worst thing that’s ever happened to me

one hand, I’ve never been more in love with a book

other hand, a book has never quite smashed my heart into pieces like this. The thousands of spoilers couldn’t have prepared me NOTHING could have prepared me! it is probably about to consume my every waking moment

geekate:

read Gideon the Ninth they said it’s going to be fun they said

you either where secretly dead all along or you live not nearly long enough and become dead anyways

Forever laughing at “Death first to vultures and scavengers.” Harrow you bitch, you’re the biggest scavenger there. You had a head in your closet and your argument to keep it was ‘finders keepers.’

points for being a drama Queen about it through.

So I’ve just been sitting here thinking “go loud” meant, like, “fuck shit up,” right? But apparently it’s an espionage term? It means “acting in a way that is likely or guaranteed to burn your cover,” basically. Like, this is the moment we’ve been waiting for, go loud and get out. Or alternatively, shit is about to hit the fan, and you have no choice but to burn your cover to avoid the worst outcome.

Did everyone else already know this? Was it just me??

(Note: I haven’t been able to find a dictionary definition or anything, just a bunch of examples of people using the phrase + one forum post talking about it. If you find a source, please let me know!)
