something about how some translations of the bible will translate it into modern english but preserve certain things like “thee” and “thou” to evoke a grand and archaic sense of the past… how much of the way alecto sees the world was the result of how jod formed her? how much of the biblical style of narration, if it wasn’t just stylistic choice and is in fact how she perceives the world and interacts with it, how much of that is inherent to her and how much of it is him filling her up with his idea of what a thing like her would talk like and act like? she was the soul of the earth but he buttoned her up into a body that he thought was perfect but that she hated. what if he made her thoughts into what seemed right to him too?
