!! I hadn’t even thought about that! I love that it’s such a recurring theme, that Harrow doesn’t know how to admit she can’t do something alone, but on some level she’s always needed Gideon more than anything.

I think the avulsion trial is also where their dynamic really begins to shift in a meaningful way, because it’s the first time that Gideon (who I think is at the disadvantage in their power dynamic) is asked for her devotion instead of being wrestled into it, and only in that context can they begin to approach seeing one another as equals. glad we’re both feeling so normal and sane about this
