Rereading some parts of gtn and huh??? What for Gideon??? What for???
SO FUN FACT.
In light of the PTBR edition of GtN coming out soon, I feel the need to inform y’all that this pun works magnificently in Portuguese. In fact, I’ll be very pissed if they don’t use it for the official translation.
So the original pun doesn’t work. “Primary” helpfully translates to “Primário”, but “Married” translated to “Casado” which… wouldn’t make any sense.
What does make wonderful sense is “Marido”, which means “Husband”.
The joke would then roughly translate to, “You could say I’m a Cavalier Pri-Husband” (”Você pode dizer que eu sou um Cavaleiro Pri-Marido”)
Which, for the purposes of this post, would mean Gideon is inwardly thinking of herself as Harrow’s husband, and I just think that’s very sexy and gender of her.
