I had a really vivid dream last night that tamsyn muir published a new short story, and in that story none of the characters were referred to by their actual names bc it was kind artsy and abstract, but the character that everyone was pretty sure was gideon nav was referred to exclusively as iphigenia.

I have been informed by my classics major gf that the implications of such a thing are extremely Fucked

Agamemnon kills his eldest daughter, Iphigenia, at Aulis as a human sacrifice.ALT
In some versions of the story, Iphigenia remains unaware of her imminent sacrifice until the last moment. She believes until the moment of her death that she is being led to the altar to be married. ALT

Wake up babe a new way to interpret the Alecto the Ninth wedding spoiler just dropped

something i love about the soup scene is how many little details are COMPLETELY RECONTEXTUALIZED when you know what she’s planning. things you wouldn’t even question.

it’s just. such a good scene. it’s such a completely different scene when you read it for the second time.

NEVER ask a WOMAN:

  1. her AGE
  2. her CAVALIER’S NAME
  3. what she put in THE SOUP
