as much as we all rag on john (with good reason), “usurp the christian god and start a star war” is exactly the kind of shit a millennial would do and i can kind of respect that

hot take time: which of the og Lyctors would get on best with their houses now and which would get on worst?

i don’t think this is the hottest of takes tbh just cause i am generally unoriginal but i am gonna divide the og lyctors into three categories: gets along great with their houses, gets along meh with their houses and would rather die than hang out with their houses.

Gets Along Great With Their Houses:

Gideon the First - while concepts of duty with respect to god may have shifted with the passage of millennia, both Gideon and Pyrrha can respect a duty driven soldier

Cyrus the First - both Cyrus and Ianthe understand the art of tasteful nudes and i think that’s great

Anastasia - i know she wasn’t technically supposed to create an entire house of shadow nuns, but She Did That and the ninth house still exists so…

Gets Along Meh With Their Houses:

Ulysses the First - idk how the progenitor of sexy parties would find the idea of fathering children posthumously, but i would guess that he would think it wasn’t very sexy

Cassiopeia the First - honestly i don’t have enough information to prove this any which way, but i just think that Cassiopeia is more of a pure researcher than someone who strives to compile information, but i don’t think she would be disappointed with the director of her house either.

Augustine the First - somehow i feel like he didn’t intend for his house to become a major bastion of civilization and is slightly uncomfortable with it, but also he isn’t unhappy with the results.

Cytherea the First - doesn’t like the focus her house has on the beauty of her state of dying, but approves of the Drama Of It All

Would Rather Die Than Hang Out With Their Houses:

Mercymorn the First - doesn’t like how her own house would dare to judge her life choices. how dare the weird relationship she has with worship of god and resentment of god reap rotten fruit. what the fuck

tamsyn muir: i wrote an entire fanfiction for my own book that hopefully no one will ever see

me:

“ianthe will be absolutely goddamn terrible in alecto”

-tamsyn muir

no space war/killing god in alecto, just gideon and ianthe starting a horrible youtube channel together and their first video is this:

two underated tidbits from the tamsyn muir vox book club interview are 1) tamsyn conceptualized cristabel before she conceptualized mercymorn and 2) mercymorn will be present in alecto in some capacity

idk what they mean together or if they even connect but 👀👀👀👀

i relate to mercymorn because i, too, sometimes see 17-year-olds existing and doing things and i go “what is this??? an infant??”
