anyway in honor of @thebookewyrm finishing gtn, i have made some memes

i have an au banging around my head where gideon prime somehow figures out that mercymorn and wake are in cahoots, so mercy has to flee with wake, and they end up having an enemies to lovers enemies who fuck sometimes while raising baby gideon together.

don’t get me wrong, they still firmly intend to kill baby gideon to open the tomb, but they’re having a hard time getting close enough to do it. this also features such events as:

• mercymorn unironically arguing with a toddler with intent to win
• mercy and wake pretending to be a married couple who have made a pilgrimage to the ninth with the intent of becoming shadow nuns
• and there was only one bed in the tiny nun’s cell in the ninth

rereading gideon the ninth & the scene where harrow and gideon get ready for abigail and magus’s anniversary dinner is high comedy when you realize that harrow dresses like the goth version of a gay-coded disney channel side character

okay but does it explicitly say in the “Becoming A Lyctor For Dummies” manual that you can’t just go consume the soul of some random person? does it have to be your cavalier? or could you just go slurp up somebody off the street and be sainted?
