HOMESTUCK ACT 6 TAROT PROJECT: Call For Artists
Hey everyone, this is resident Homestuck duo Aryll and Miche! We’re both big fans of the official Homestuck Tarot Card deck, but we’ve come to the conclusion that it unfortunately has one big downside: it focuses largely on the first 5 Acts of the comic, and doesn’t include many of the awesome characters or scenes from the latter half of the story.
That is why this project now exists!
The two of us are collaborating together to create an unofficial sequel to this deck. Comprised of the 21 Major Arcana Tarot cards, this deck will feature characters, themes, and symbology from Act 6 (and 7, even if Act 6 is 99% of the latter half of the story, thus the name of this project). This means we’re looking for (excluding Aryll) 21 different artists on our team to work together to illustrate all 22 (0 through 21) cards for the deck.
The deck will be posted to this blog upon its completion, and will be available as a digital download for all fans. Also, please note that because of the unofficial nature of this fan project, it will be unpaid, so please keep this in mind when you apply!

Some Changes
Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made a few adjustments to the Tarot deck!
The changes are as follows:
- The Empress: the card has been changed to Kanaya & The Condesce as opposed to Meenah & The Condesce.
- The Emperor: the card has been clarified further and renamed to Auto Responder & Dirk (Early Act 6 — AR Upright, Dirk Reversed) as opposed to Dirk & Auto Responder (Early Act 6).
- The Chariot: the card has been changed to Meenah & Aranea as opposed to Aranea AND/OR Vriska.
- The Sun: the card has been changed to Karkat (With Kanaya as a possible secondary character) as opposed to Kanaya & Karkat.
Because these new designations may alter how some artists who’ve already applied feel about their card choices, you will be able to edit your application responses by visiting the form page, if you want to change your previous choice of cards.
Also, as an aside, we’d like to remind everyone that if there are enough applicants interested in this project, we WILL be expanding the Tarot deck to include all 78 cards! If this becomes possible, we will be sure to update everyone on how the addition of the Minor Arcana will be handled.

are the cards going to have backs?
The cards will have border/frame designs, as designed by Aryll. Because we don’t plan on actually producing the cards and/or selling them, we weren’t planning on designing a back for them, but if that’s an additional design element people would be interested in seeing we can consider it!
