Hi y’all, I’m hoping to have the rest of the update together by the end of this week & I will answer any questions I get to the inbox on the weekend. Very happy to see folks are excited for more! Stay cool.

A heads up that I’m taking advantage of the two years of growth I’ve had since last working on act 8 to improve some of the older logs. Nothing should be too seriously different than what anybody remembers, just a warning in case you notice some changes over the weekend.

Things nobody asked:

• Q: Is the project really resumed?
  A: Yes, but not in the capacity that it was when I was leading it in 2016. I’ll be going it alone this time, at least for now.
• Q: How frequent can we expect updates to be going forward?
  A: Pretty infrequent at first, the next update I had in mind was fairly large and would only make sense if it was all ready to go out at once. Here are some Significant Dates that persist in my hopes and dreams;

- 8/8/19
- 9/1/19
- 9/28/19

• Q: So you’re finishing [S] Resolve?
  A: Or I’ll die trying.
• Q: Wait, by yourself?
  A: Did I stutter?
• Q: Hey, no need to be like that about it.
  A: That’s not a question. Moving on.

Things you asked:

Ooof, no softballs. Well If it’s any consolation, Gamzee’s character arc and his physical presence in act 8 are pretty much both resolved. Sometimes god just eats you. 

I’m intending to keep the basic premise, since I think it prompts interesting questions. But I get that people who are hoping this will color within the lines exclusively might be disappointed.

There’s an inherit tension between fanwork and the text’s motives, which at different points in time are hidden, complicated through certain readings, or if you are the scandalous sort, tempt just a little bit of transgression. I think act 8 is a project about examining that tension more than anything else, and as we move on into the meat of the story, I hope that gets explored in a cool way.
