Woah. You intended to end the whole of Act 8 by the end of September? That seems like a lot of work! Even a timeframe of 2019 for completion makes me excited : D This last Rose conversations made me feel like the conversations at the end of Act 5 Act 2, and considering that probably is my favourite homestuck part, that is a VERY good thing.

You guessed it! Resolve, I mean. For total completion, we are looking at more like 2020, maybe 2021 if I feel like doing some sort of big finale. You picked up on something I’m going for re; the nostalgic elements and energies. Something about loops, spirals, and coming full circle.

Act 8 is a project by a fan-person who normally checks in with a reliable expert on the alpha kids but said expert is in the middle of a very stressful move and oh god is this update okay? They would like to apologize preemptively for showing any signs of authorial weakness.

Also a note that this is the start, but not the entirety, of me working some trans headcanons into the story. I was already thinking about it, and since the epilogues went there I feel a bit more empowered to do so.
Some things are going to be incompatible with the epilogues (in act 8, roxy is a trans girl) but that’s because of the traction I saw for that headcanon over the years, hopefully not interpreted as some kind of rebuttal– because that is not my intention. Though I am excited to let other officially endorsed ideas, like June, influence my approach to the character going forward. My idea is that whatever I include can be explored with affection and without being seen as disruptive. Hopefully that’s chill, I am very much open to feedback.
That update was awesome! I like how we are exploring some of the game mechanics that were left a bit unexplained or underdeveloped, like the Ultimate Alchemy (or in this case Super Ultimate Alchemy I guess) and the ways they would go about it. The writing for Jane was also really really good. I love my alpha kids and you are doing them a lot of justice here.
Oh thank goodness. I have become truly fond of the alphas lately and with Jane in particular, it was important to me that I did well. This was a part of the story I struggled with and I think that shows, but you have reassured me it was fun for at least one person and that’s very encouraging.
Hi all! A quick update that the 9/28 deadline I was hoping for wasn’t really workable. I did get a lot done but there’s just something special I want to be able to do for this flash that will take some extra time. The new plan is to have updates through October, possibly November (about six more) leading to resolve as soon as possible. 11/11 would be cool I think! Okay thanks bye!
