Hi guys! I was wondering on how you guys get that image preview whenever you post an update post! I want to do that sort of cool thing for updates of Janestuck, so yeah! Thanks in advance!!

Hi there! We just make a preview image from a section of one of the upd8 panels. Since Homestuck panels are pretty small, you’ll have to enlarge whatever selection you make. Tumblr displays images at a width of 540 pixels, so may as well make it 540 pixels wide, and our previews are 300 pixels tall, although you could choose to make yours a different height if you wanted.

Then you make a Photo post, and once you add the preview image, you can hover over it to show the add link option in the bottom left corner of the image. Click that to turn the image into a link to the first page of your upd8.
