i’m not sure i follow. jake isnt supposed to marry anyone except who he wants, and he wanted to date dirk, not jake. i’d guess you might be conflating Jake with Grandpa, who was technically prophecized to marry Nanna? But i personally think that got fulfilled a different way, and anyway Grandpa and Jake are two different people living two different lives. you’re gonna have to expand on the nature of the perceived problem
Human beings do not have a moral imperative to fulfill prophecies. That’s… actually a plot point in Homestuck near the end, come to think of it, what with Dave deliberately doing the bare minimum necessary to get out of his prophecy to defeat LE.
