At least in the states, there’s a march that everyone can pick out as the ‘circus’ song. It was written over a century ago by Julius Fučík, and he called it ‘Entrance of the Gladiators.’ Try picturing the song echoing through a Roman arena as doomed men march into the killing grounds. Yeah, just a little dark.
‘Metal Crusher’ channels that ‘lighthearted but for all the wrong reasons’ spirit. It fits the scene well enough, as Mettaton puts you through a series of farcical, deadly challenges.
The intro may as well have been played by a set of floppy drives, and lo and behold, there’s already at least one floppy drive cover of this song out there.
