I think Caliborn’s reception of PURE ART SKILL over a year ago was a visual callforward, not a callback.
It looks like it was literally rotoscoped from Act 7 art. Though I’ll admit, it’d be really funny if Andrew gave the animator that picture and said ‘make Caliborn’s reception of supreme god-power look exactly like this.’

It took me a minute to acclimate to the tone of the Flash here (what’s all this? sprites? wizards? fraymotifs?). But after settling in, what I took away was just how fun this part is. No serious drama yet: just a crazy kid-driven melee that bounces around from spastic fight to spastic fight at 168 beats per minute.
I like the medley transitions, especially. The setup for Roxy’s Shoryuken attack on the Condesce. The arena-rock intro to Jake’s fight. The power-of-blue-cookies healing interlude. And, most of all, Dad: Enter the Fray. All of these things happen.
