Note the ‘Z’ bubbles that prove the hummingbirds are just sleeping, and not injured in any way. Andrew Hussie went out of his way to add those little bubbles to reassure us. You can almost hear him consoling the readers: “Oh, I would never hurt the adorable hummingbirds! Never! Not in a million years!”

It should probably be stipulated that although LoFaM is tied to Homestuck via thematic inspiration, it shouldn't be confused with official Homestuck music. The LoFaM albums are very much unofficial, and very much made by fans for fans. So it's less a new Homestuck album, and more a new collection of Homestuck fanmusic, I guess?

You’ve said it better than I ever could. Yes, the LOFAM albums are fan-created works and quite unofficial, not directly affiliated with the comic in any way.
