Of all Bowman’s albums, I think this one is the most consistently clever when it comes to the lyrics. Synchronize is no exception. It’s a fast-paced song, and Bowman’s auctioneer-level delivery in the chorus really makes it pop.

In hindsight I’m not sure how I missed this one earlier on. The intro’s a bit slow, but it slowly builds a heavy atmosphere as it goes on. With the ticking clock keeping time, it would fit right in on The Felt. My favorite bit’s the Doppler-esque transition just after the 2:00 mark.

The song hits just the right flavor of 90’s glam-pop without being completely obnoxious. It’s a loving homage to an era in music that is objectively incapable of being loved.

I got to thinking about this one after listening to Rex Duodecim Angelus for the umpteenth time. It’s a bonus track, so it’s sort of tucked away in the back of Alternia, and it’s a cheery combination of acoustic guitar and piano. A little jumbled, but easy on the ears with a nice hook.

Reminds me a bit of Light, off of Medium. But where that was one for the sunny daytime, this song belongs on the playlist of a small band just outside a classy Caribbean beach bar, with the moon rising over the waves.

Here We Are (by Toby Fox) is one of the bonus tracks from the Undertale OST. If you’ve played the game, you’ve heard this melody before, but a switch in dominant meter from ¾ to 5/4 and darker instrumentation flips the tone from corny to skin-crawlingly creepy.

This song gave me the biggest ‘Earthbound!’ vibe out of any track from Undertale. I think it’s the instrumentation – Earthbound’s music is weird, to say the least.
