the forbidden knowledge is that cherubs are, in fact, human. that every source of information we have on them has blind spots and these add up to “calliope gets her info from homestuck sources,” “aranea can’t exactly prove that cherubs come from an egg; the details to her story are Best Guesses while the *overall vague shape* of the story is the truth,” and “we humans don’t even know what we are. why would we? we haven’t ever gotten an outside perspective. we just have the narrow refined culminations of our specialized traditions.”

I will write an essay fleshing out my points. “essay” feels misleading. I will write a proof, as a thesis. but this is forbidden knowledge I have complete confidence in.

“Thesis” also sounds misleading. I am not doing this for my own gain, and I lack the university context to submit this to or claim assigned it to me.

I have not touched Homestuck in years, but instead i have kept the cherubs in my head while doing a lot of unfalsifiable personal growth. (you cannot verify what I say empirically, I will not let you. but you can in fact verify it in other ways.)

What I’m trying to say is.

Caliborns Wake presents: The Cherub Thing. Coming soon to a Tumblr near you.
