So I don’t have the cherub thing yet.

Instead, I enigmatically share this episode of my Chao fanfic here on Caliborns Wake.

It is not about Homestuck. It is about other things. It also has necessary Archive Warnings that any potential reader should heed.

But I share it here because, in writing this episode (or, rewriting at 27 this episode I made when I was 14), I also shed some light on (my understanding of) The Cherub Question.

I claim cherubs are humans because I process my own brain not unlike a cherub.

I am nervous posting this here. It is not my intention to use this blog’s Homestuck following to boost my outside projects. I want to do my best to only share the things that encroach on relevant themes, and never coaxing others to check them out. (And DCA has a whole labyrinth of context, itself. This episode takes place during the mindfuck end section of Metal Gear Solid 2, because Reasons. DCA is a long story, and as I got older I began trying to directly address the heavy stuff underneath it.)

…but, dammit, Dark Chao Adventures was gonna be relevant to my Homestuck projects simply because my plan was (may still be) to create a relevant fanfic titled Dead Cherub Adventures. Maybe this episode posted here works towards bridging that gap. Maybe it doesn’t. But it definitely depicts the brutal psychological battle between two differing identities for control over the sanctity of a fiction’s truth, I wrote it as I came up with it, and I somehow managed to achieve synthesis. This episode shows the cherub author achieve cooperation between the two identities DJay and EAT.

If I do get around to writing The Cherub Thing in essay form, it will come from this background, applied to Homestuck. Because I am fucking cool.

Read it and weep, if you dare.
