Growth. Personal growth. We are watching these characters grow as people, not a zoo full of different colored animals fucking eachother senseless.
We all KNEW if Dirk and Jake were to get together it was going to end tragically. Not only is that just Homestuck, but Dirk’s God Tier is Prince of Heart. It’s so fucking inevitable It’s not funny.
Dirk is also being a clingy doof. Of course Jake feels caged, a free, adventerous spirit like Mr. English is not going to like that extreme neediness we’re seeing Dirk display. It’s going to hurt both of them, but that’s growth.
Dirk will learn from those mistakes, as he should.
We don’t need to see how there relationship was, because It’s not Iincrediably important to the story or progress of the characters.
I’m pretty damn sad about the whole thing, but I’m not reading a love story on my OTP when going onto mspa, have fanfiction and RPing for that. Plus, they were together for awhile in the comic, that’s pretty damn cool.
Also, side note, are we all completely forgetting that Hussie announced that all ships are canon?
