I really hope you repost the one where dirk admits himself to the hospital. His experience really resonated with me, and it might be the most accurate depiction of mental health hospitals I've seen? Also daves reaction to everything gives me lots of feelings.

When I was writing that I really reflected on my own mental health struggles, and the shame, confusion, and surprising amount of numb acceptance that often comes with them. (Alongside a healthy dose of internal comedy as a coping mechanism, hah.) I’m really glad it resonated with you. It can be nerve wracking, writing about such sensitive topics, but hearing that my intentions connected really gives me a boost in confidence as I grow closer to becoming a full-time writer.

It was a feeling I couldn’t really capture in words or art so I decided to compose a quick song devoted to a now-empty session. May it rest in pieces.

Okay, so you’re up the ladder. That’s impressive! Did you investigate everything up there + get that sheet of (puzzle) paper?

Once you have that you can go back down the ladder and start futzing around with the fireplace. Protip: make sure you’ve entered all your “==>”! I’ve had people get stuck simply bc they missed one and weren’t taken to the next “page.”

Not to take it back to 2010 but the johndave fic where Dave’s a deep space astronaut who keeps taking missions because he feels like he’s waiting for something, wherein every 3 years he spends in space is like 10+ on Earth, and where he ultimately ends up hooking up with (& marrying? I think? I don’t actually remember a lot of this) Rose’s adoptive son John who was born and grew up while Dave was in space—is such an interesting & clever story conceit and one that I still think about.

huhmm i mean ittt’s ? useful and kinda important? but tbh nnot entirely constantly necessary like it points you in the right direction but i’ve never been checking it on a daily basis i guess if you wanted some instruction or needed to be reminded about quest requirements you could just snap the other joycon in for a minute tho? i mean it really isn’t all that hard to switch from havin em both snapped into the switch to going to just the one - when you’re not using it as a console at least

my plus button doesnt work but when both are installed I think the minus (-) becomes the journal/quest thing?? so that will work!!

yeah i mean you dont need the plus if you’re using the single joycon bc the b button does the same thing ( or i guess it’s actually the a button but it’s where the b button would be normally - FMKDNDKD IN ANY CASE THE BOTTOM ONE —) so that works! and yep, the - is the quest, so it sounds like you’d be a-okay!!
