Not to dip into true-crime-on-main again but holy shit, y’all, a suspect has been arrested and charged as the Golden State Killer, almost 50 years after his killing spree throughout the 70s and 80s. The late writer Michelle McNamara worked tirelessly and endlessly for years, sifting through and compiling evidence just so someday we might see this very moment. While she isn’t here to see it happen I hope her family and fans are feeling this triumph. She deserves the resolution she so fiercely sought, and I have full confidence this case wouldn’t have been solved without her tireless quest for justice.
OMG that’s incredible news! The My Favourite Murder podcast did a really heartfelt tribute to her recently (with her husband Patton and the guys who put together her final book after her death) and I didn’t realise before just how insanely dedicated Michelle was to solving this case. It really means so much that they’ve finally arrested someone.
Michelle never let the case go cold. This is her victory.
Yes! That episode was so excellent. Karen & Georgia were fantastic hosts.
I’m sorry she’ll never see the killer—but really, she was the queen of this cold case. I’m glad it might finally, finally be put to rest.
