Hey! I just wanted to know why Asexual Eridan headcanon is so popular. He seemed like the opposite to me. I'm only barely starting act 6 though, so maybe the reasons show up later?
You may or may not know this but Eridan is an allegory for the Obama Administration and administrations (not being people), do not have sexualities.
But seriously, I think he’s ace because he’s always flirting. He ‘s constantly hitting on people because he’s scared.
Think about it for a second, even in our Earth culture asexuals often times feel broken. He feels different, he feels wrong, so he’s desperately trying to do what he thinks will fix him which in this case is get in a relationship.
So just in that hand you can understand some of his behavior, but in the other hand you have to factor in Alternian culture. On Alternia once you hit adulthood you have to have someone to mate with or you’ll be killed. So you have this little 13 year old kid scared for his life because he feels broken and has it ingrained in him that if he doesn’t get himself fixed in a few years he will die. If I was the kid, I’d damn sure flirt with everyone too.
Of course this is all speculation and if you don’t agree that’s perfectly fine.
