IM SO CONFUSED? Why is earth completely being destroyed not register as like a shock to them?? Why were the beta kids like totally desensitized to their entire population being dead? I'm so confused...

Also, they thought they were playing the game to save the Earth and by the time they all learned it was already destroyed they had more pressing matters to deal with, such as not getting killed by monsters.
