Also, none of the ecto-anythings have real parents or figures or anything. They created themselves, literally. Goo for trolls probably came from a mother grub and another version of each troll or some shit like that. Same goes for the kids.

Children are made from their parents’ dna

John and Jade were made from Jane and Jake’s dna

Therefore Jake and Jane are the biological parents of John and Jade.

I assume that the trolls are just copies of theirselves since they appear to be very similar to their dancestors physically.
