Caliborn, Arquiusprite, and half of Gamzee were trapped inside Lil Cal and then Doc Scratch was created via ectobiology from Lil Cal and a white cue ball. Once Doc Scratch died Lord English emerged from his body as an amalgam of those characters.

Pre-scratch kids are John, Jade, Rose, and Dave. Post-scratch kids are Jane, Jake, Roxy, and Dirk. Pre-scratch and post-scratch are terms for the B1 universe and B2 universe. B1 universe is where John and his friends are kids and play sburb. B2 universe is where Jane and her friends are kids and play sburb. An auspistice is a troll that prevents two other trolls from entering a kismessisstude and stabilizes their relationship.
