Yes. He. Was. He is a Purple Blood, one of, if not the most violent blood castes. He was free from his suppressive drugs and he had a renewed faith in his religion. He was more himself than he had ever been before.

First of all, I just want to say thanks for the hard work you guys do! Secondly, I'm just curious if you, as people who have put a great deal of time into knowing Homestuck, would recommend it to someone who knows nothing about it? Would you say it'd be better or worse to get into now that its past the insane height of popularity it once reached?
There are ups and downs to getting into it now.
You’ll miss the sense of community. The fandom used to be so much more tight knit and fun.
But you also won’t have to deal with the hordes of fans at every convention and all the bucket phase kids.
But yes, I’d recommend it. I’d always recommend it, Homestuck is one of the best pieces of fiction I’ve ever come across.
Thank you for still fighting the good fight against the Gamzee apologists, so many of us have just gotten so tired of having to re-explain the same points over and over again.

I am also a libra who loves Gamzee as a character but has thought at times that he is indeed, the Worst Person. Now, I've heard the arguments, and I get what people mean when they say he's black/poor/neurodivergent coded, and I've actually had long conversations with ppl about this. My take is - The lack of attention and dialogue from him recently helps Goddamn None. Cal has obviously affected him, but we all agree Bro is at fault in a similar situation; Cal just exaggerated his worst traits.

So I understand Eridan but why didnt Vriska bring Feferi back to life? I mean she watch a life player and even if she wasnt god tier she could have come in handy. Especially since when we first met her she said it was her destiny to fight )(IC and I thought that would become an important plot point
Vriska didn’t kill Feferi so she didn’t feel the need to correct it.
would you say that gamzee is coded as being black because i just went to that gamzee apologize link one of the earlier askers submitted and their argument is pretty much that gamzee is getting the short end of the stick compared to 'white coded characters'.
Tbh I just read him as a troll, I didn’t pick up on racial coding on any of the characters. And I’d love to hear reasons Gamzee is black coded that aren’t just racist stereotypes
From what I remember, Jane did force a slave-like abusive relationship on Jake, and was planning on forcing him to father her children to continue the Crocker Empire. However, she was under complete control of the Crocker Tiara, making her not Jane at all, so she can't really be held accountable for that.
Jane could be held accountable, but most likely won’t be because she feels remorse for what she did and will (or already has?) apologized for it.

I think people call Gamzee "black coded" because of the his rapping and use of some AAVE, but that's supposed to code him as a Juggalo, and Juggalos are overwhelmingly white. I guess Juggalos aren't as prominent on the internet now as they were 5 years ago, so newer/younger fans aren't getting the reference anymore.
is there anyway to read a character as "coded" for something without it being a racial stereotype? i legit don't understand that conceptually. thats pretty off topic though so here's a homestuck question: do you think we'll ever get a more definitive understanding of active/passive pairs and other classpect stuff? even if it's not directly in comic or something i'd still like to know

“coded” is basically a character written with the traits of a certain group or illness. The point, I’m not quite sure. To say something without saying it I suppose

So I am in no way a gamzee apologist, I think he's literally the worst person in the comic, next to maybe caliborn, but how would you compare him to vriska, who's also a murderer and was in an abusive relationship (cause vrisktav is not healthy.)

How long would it take to read all of homestuck not including the final bits. someone told me it would take like a few months but i really dont think it'll be that long.
It depends my first read through took a couple weeks, some people only take a few days. It depends on how committed you are, also how good you read.
Why can't they just kill gamzee, that way they won't have to deal with Lord English or would that just not work
Because Lord English instigated many, many major events that shifted the timeline to what it is and if they stop him from being created they break a time loop and pretty much fuck everything up and doom their timeline
How deserving do you think Vriska is of a redemption arc/happy ending at this point? Since you rank her so close to Gamzee on the douche-o-meter, and you say Gamzee doesn't deserve one. Just curious.
She already got one. (Vriska) is the redemption arc. Therefore, currently alive Vriska can fuckin die for all I care, and she probably will, for the irony.
