Sorry, I'm not sure I follow. Why would travel back to a time they were already at where they'd most likely run into their past selves, instead of forward to try and start a new civilization and hopefully finally be free of all the Sburb and LE bullshit
They traveled into the future to get there so the most logical course of action would be to travel back to right after they left so it’d be like they were never gone. and Caliborn was the last piece of Sburb/LE bullshit they had to deal with so after beating him they could live the rest of their days in relative peace.
Is Hiveswap Alternia different to Homestuck Alternia at all? By like, laws or the fuctionality?
Trizza runs a tighter ship than Feferi did so Hiveswap Alternia has a few extra laws and they’re upheld vigorously. But the culture and societal mindsets between the two are pretty much the same.
How did Davepetasprite^2 become combined? Literally the only thing I can remember involving them was that horrible drawing of them hugging ARquariussprite
Davesprite and Nepetasprite shook hands and because Nepsprite was only single tier prototyped she got prototyped with Davesprite and thus the pure child of Davepeta was born
Hello! im not sure where else to ask this but, do you know if a session can have two players of the same class and/or aspect? if you dont know, thats petfectly fine! n thank you in advance! love this blog btw!
That’s never really discussed in canon. There’s an old theory I like that as player numbers increase the aspects splinter into more specific versions of themselves, or there could just be more classes and aspects that we don’t know about. And it’s entirely possible that classes and aspects can repeat within a party and we just havent seen a large enough group for it to happen.
Sometimes I randomly have thoughts that come from absolutely fucking nowhere, and one of them was "ancestral awakening" and I thought "hey that sounds like a Homestuck thing that I forgot about" so like. IS it a thing in HS that I forgot about?
Ok so near the start of the series just after john prototypes the harlequin doll, he gives it a high five. ("Couldn't leave him hanging any longer") should this not have secondary prototyped himself with the doll like how Dave prototyped himself with the crowsprite?
There a couple theories as to why such as sprites may not be able to be prototyped with their player if they’re not dead/dying/doomed (Aradia and Jade were both dead before hand and the Dave that was prototyped was from an alt timeline so he was doomed)
Or that sprites just can’t be second tier prototyped with anything that isn’t dead/dying/or doomed. The only time we see a sprite being second tier prototyped with a non-dead/dying/doomed entity was with Rose’s sprite but that may be an exception since it was still had its kernel at the time.
early on in jake's introduction, when we learn that he has (had?) the puzzle fetch modus, it says that he has a mysterious really huge item in his sylladex taking up a lot of space. was it ever revealed what that was?
During [S] Act 7, near the beginning, when WV and PM are standing at the volcano, a peace of flute music is played. I know it has been played multiple times throughout the comic, and is a early piece of hs music, but I can't figure out what it is from originally. Do you know?
This one took some looking into, but I managed to place its origin in Even in Death which was used in [S] Roxy: Sleepwalk, a slightly different mix of it was also used in [S] Act 6 Act 4
So how does death for God Tiers work? I remember reading early on that, according to Karkat, someone thats god tiered can only die a heroic death, yet we have tons of Just deaths?? And a bunch of deaths that were cancelled (like with john when he and grim!rose were fighting jack). The subject just confuses me, since there's so many conflicting points.
A God Tiered Player can only die a Heroic or Just death. Heroic meaning that they died while protecting someone/something or while doing something generally heroic. A Just death is when a player dies while they are corrupted or working against the goal of Sburb.
Can you explain dirks splinters?? Like I never quite got what he was referring to, if possible please explain in detail
Dirk’s main self and dreamself can both be awake at the same time.
Lil Hal is a copy of Dirk’s mental self at age 13
Brobot and to a lesser extent, Lil Seb are robot versions of Dirk.
Brain Ghost Dirk is a version of Dirk conjured by Jake’s Hope powers.
So that’s 5 or 6 different individuals, all with a little piece of Dirk that can all be doing stuff at the same time. No other living person (aside from temporarily Time players) have that many versions of themselves running at once.
Hiveswap reminded me how little I understand about the beta parents. Was Pa a comedian like his father for awhile? Did he do anything during the beta gameplay?
He was not a comedian, Poppop was but Grandpa wasn’t. Grandpa was an Adventurer and Big Business Man. During the Beta’s game he brought Mom and Dad to the Battlefield and retrieved Jade’s dead dreamself.
How exactly did Jade's grandpa retrieve her dreamself? Is it something unique to him/them or could anyone do it in theory? Would it be possible for trolls?
There are teleporters to Derse and Prospit within the Frog Temple, and since he was living on the island that hosted the Temple he could do to and from the medium as he pleased. So anyone could do it with access to the Temple.
Do you have any theories about the fate of Vriska/LE/The Army?
I believe that they all died or are stuck in some type of pocket-dimension or whatever inside the Black Hole, but there are definitely other theories out there.
do you happen to remember any mysteries that we never get the answer to? the only one I can think of is the Genesis Frog that appears to Jade when she's a kid and we never got the answer as to who sent it. (ps: I hope youre having a good day so far, thank u for all that u do <3)
There’s that. The mystery of where Liv Tyler’s weapons came from, we saw Jake get them out of the Lotus Pod but we didn’t see who put them in there. And as such the timeline of the Zillywho is incomplete.
The Zilly weapons were also kinda built up to be kinda super important and then most of them didn’t even get used once (the hammer, pistols and katana I think being the only ones). But that’s not so much a mystery as it is a dropped plot thread.
Kind of a dumb question. Ok, say you're a god tier and you were trying to coax a cat out of a tree. And while you were doing that, a truck slammed into you and you died. Would that count as a heroic death? Or does the death have to be caused because of the good thing you were doing?
I mean, maybe its just me, but I don’t really see coaxing a cat out of a tree to be a heroic action, more of just a nice thing to do. It’s Subjective.
“ One may be killed by opposing a corrupt adversary and die for a just cause, as through martyrdom, for instance. This would be heroic. Or one may be subject to corruption, and slain by a hero. This would be just. ”
So, the Scratch changes the order of the meteor arrivals, got you. But does it reset the universe in the process? Like lets say I have the A aliens species and the B species. A plays the game but the decide to scratch, would that instance of the universe be deleted (and thus new copies of B are created) or just the A planet changes?
The original Universe still exists. The Genesis frog holds all instances of a Universe so both can exist at once. For the kids, the B1 Universe was in the Genesis Frog’s Right eye while the B2 somewhere else within the frog, presumably in its left eye.
Mediums however are erased in the event of a Scratch, that’s why the kids had to book it out of theirs asap.
are there any restrictions on Jake's sylladex? if it could store an item as large as his house without too much issue, it seems like it'd be the best option in every scenario
It does have a limit and you have to make everything fit together like puzzle pieces (it is the puzzle modus after all) so if you cant make something fit it’ll just fall out
During Openbound, when Meenah went around talking to her session's teammates, did we ever find out if any of them had god tiered? Besides Meenah, I think. And I mean just Openbound, not any of the alt timeline dead trolls that appeared in Ministrife, because I think some of them were god tiered.
Meenah and Aranea are the only ones from their timeline to have been confirmed God Tier
So like... Who exactly were the chess people, and what was their role in the comic? IDK why, but they confuse me to no end
The Dersites(Black) and Prospitans(White) were in a war. The Dersites wanted to destroy Skaia and the Battlefield so that the players couldn’t create a new universe while the Prospitans were trying to defend it.
The Black King will always triumph over the White King. The players have to stop him before he accomplishes his goal or else they can’t win.
They also help to spread the lore of their players and look after dreamselves until they awake
Caliborn was born in the new universe though, doesn't that mean Condy's new troll empire actually happened and got destroyed by Caliborn's dad with the Canon fan trolls?
Nope, the kids killed Condy in Collide so she never even entered the new Universe. The Cali-dad just destroyed a planet that had some trolls on it, it wasn’t apart of a new troll empire
just to be clear, a session *has* to have a Space player to succeed, correct? Also, do they ever say what would happen if a space player doesnt have a knight to help them?
Yeah, it’s the Space players job to make the genesis tadpole
and the “space player needs a knight to help” thing isn’t canon
Did we ever learn what happens when a dream bubble is destroyed with an alive person's physical self in it? Like if a bubble burst while the meteor was passing through it and everyone was awake?
The people passing through it would be fine. They can exist in the Furthest Ring outside of a Dreambubble so they would have nothing to worry about.
Thinking it over, a lot of canon/possibly canon ships seem to be prospit/derse pairings. Kanaya/Rose, Karkat/Dave, Terezi/Dave, Jake/Dirk. I guess John/Vriska doesn't fit but I thought it was neat enough to mention. Even Sollux and Aradia had a both/"none" moon affiliation.
Out of the 23 relationships that have been canon there have been 12 ships of Prospit/Derse pairings and 11 ships whose dreamselves were from the same planet. So I wouldn’t exactly call it “a lot” it’s only half which makes sense.
did we ever find out the importance of the white circle with the curly cue at the end that calliope drew? this thing cdn(.)mspaintadventures(.)com(/)storyfiles(/)hs2(/)05098(.)gif
For future reference you can just send me the page number, you don’t have to do the whole url.
But it’s a sun. The sun being sucked into the spiral is white but it’s surrounded by Red and Green. Both the Red Sun and Green Sun had this happen to them so it could have been foreshadowing that
is it possible that aspects could be gender specific like classes? we've never seen a male space or light player, or a female breath or hope player.
I don’t think we have a large enough sample size to determine whether any are gender specific. Some classes were stated to be in story so it’s certainly possible.
