Sight correction. Puperty is when the trolls pupate from being grubs into being an actual troll. He had his wings long before their session.

I’ve gotten a few asks refering to Kurloz and the rest of the dancestors as the “Alpha Trolls”. Now, they aren’t really the Alpha trolls. Let me explain you a thing.
Karkat and his group of trolls are technically the Alpha trolls since they survive into the alpha timeline, but they are called the Beta trolls because they interact with the Beta kids. Got it?
The Beta kids are called the Beta kids because they played the Sburb Beta. The Alpha kids are called the Alpha kids because they played/ are playing the Sburb Alpha. Just check the poster in John/Jane’s room.
To avoid confusion, instead of using beta and alpha use pre-scratch and post-scratch.

This is stated in the beginning of the first part of the book edition of HS.
How the scratch works. All of the kids and guardians, Alpha and Beta, were created by John in the pre-scratch session, sent through Skaia’s gates on meteors, and then the meteors were for lack of a better word “duplicated” to be sent to different time periods in the two iterations of the universe.

Valid point, but you have to remember, Meenah was also God Tier. Assume she used her power as Theif of Life to removed the immortality gifted by god tier in order to save her friend from being erased from existence. Which is what the scratch would have done if you didn’t know
