Something I just noticed. Troll names have six letters in both first and last names. Andrew Hussie has six letters in his first and last name as well.

I'd just like to point out that on page 89 of your blog, you stated that Vriska was fluent in morse code. Now, in her song Cobolt Theif from ColoUrs and Mayhem, there is a bit in the song that, in MOSRE CODE, that it says "Please save him." . Just wanted to point this out through my broken TaVris feels.

okay im just kidding about karkat being john's dad, actual fact: The song "Black Rose, Green Sun" was the only song used in a flash before cascade that was in cascade. It was used in that one walkaround flash with rose.

DING DONG, YOU'VE GOT THAT WRONG. The song used in the walkaround flash was Black Rose, Green Sun, whereas the one used in Cascade was Black Hole, Green Sun. Small difference name-wise, easy mistake to make, but still.

Hey, did any of you guys realize Hussie planned EVERYTHING IN HOMESTUCK TO DO THE EXACT THINGS? He had all these ideas before they even existed as pages. For example, Jake's side of the letter was introduced before Jake even came into the comic at all.

Another example being Jasper’s timeline or the RapBots poster in Dave’s room.

The beauty of the webcomic format is that you can waste time on boring stuff and throw in tid bits that won’t be relevant for years without having to worry about being cancelled or discontinued.

The Species title is the same number of letters as their names. All Kids have 4 letter, Trolls 6, Cherubim 8.

Sadly Guardian doesn’t fit the same pattern, but they all have three letters excluding Grandpa Harley (ex:Dad, Mom, Bro, Bec)

Actually! About the ask about Hussie's planning. He originally didn't even intend for the trolls to appear. He started the webcomic intending it to be solely four kids playing a game, and explaining the construct of the game. Source is from the 1st Homestuck book, in one of his comments.

Also a fun fact about the numbers of letters is that the Derse kids have 7 letters in their last names, and the Prospits have 6.

Correction, all Beta-Prospit Kids have 6 letters.

The Alphas have 7 (crocker and english)

Forgotten fact: Hussie didn't name any of the kids or trolls! Not pre- or post-scratch in either case. It's most likely because so many people started reading after the suggestion boxes were closed, but it's still pretty cool to check out the old threads and such!

I was reading what you said about ancestors having 8 letters as well as 8 letters in their name, but what about Grand Highblood?

The 8 letter restriction was too scared of him so he is the one exception.

Actually, most (or not all) of the Beforan trolls weren't named by Hussie either! They were suggestions in the name suggestion box for their dancestors.

The Beforan Trolls’ names were suggestions for the Alternian Trolls.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure he planned on having all 8 kids and Lord English. Trolls and cherub details were added along the way.
