do artists themselves have to be women to participate?

Nope, anyone can apply! 

For the name section on the application do we need to use just our first name or our first and last names?

Just your first name is fine, or if you have a pseudonym or handle you go by online that’s perfectly fine as well.

Hey so most artists, specially on here, are digital artists and ive dabbled but I'm not super skilled like everyone else, I mostly use traditional media atm. Will that hinder my chances?

As long as you have the ability to scan in your art at a high enough quality it shouldn’t hinder your chances, no

Ah man I'm so anxious bc I've applied for different fan projects before and have been rejected so many times and the one project where they actually really liked me was canceled so I can't decide if I want to risk the feeling again or like .... Entering anyways.. bc I feel like i might be able to do a good job but there are also so many more fantastic artists than me. But anyways no matter the outcome this is a great project and I'm super excited to see the results

We would definitely encourage you to enter anyway!! It’s true that we have more applicants than there are cards available, so some folks are inevitably going to get left out of the initial round. But the way things are looking now, expanding to the minor arcana is definitely a possibility in the future. If you don’t make the initial cut, don’t feel discouraged - there are going to be more opportunities in this project later down the line

this is such a cool idea..i was wondering if its okay if i were to maybe organize a tarot art project for a smaller fandom, if i credited ladystuck tarot project for the inspiration? thank you so much! this is so amazing and clever and i truly cannot wait to see all the awesome art that comes out of this <3

By all means go ahead! there have been loads of other collaborative fandom tarot card projects we’re taking inspiration and advice from (most recently the jojo tarot) so it’s not an original idea. Don’t worry about crediting us unless you’re, like, lifting our card descriptions or something lol

how many applications do you have so far? (just curiosity/wondering how likely the minor arcana is)

Currently we have 77 applications. I am a little bit hesitant to post this because I’m worried someone will see that number and think “oh they’re set already, I’ll never get in” - applications are open for 2 more weeks. We’re not going to start making selections until after applications close and everyone who applies will be given equal consideration. If it’s something you’re interested in we encourage you to apply regardless!

how much time is left to apply and how much time (approximately) will it take you to select artists?

We won’t be accepting applications after noon CST October 22nd (so, tomorrow)

Hey ! I was just curious about if/when you'll know if you're in or not :0? Sorry if this question seems unwarranted or you've answered it somewhere already! Do you send out rejection notices or do you just accept people and then release a post being like "if you aren't on this list you didn't get in!"

Notices will be sent out before the end of October, and yes we are planning on sending out rejection notices. We’re going to try and send out all acceptance/rejection emails at about the same time so we won’t leave people hanging!
