well, as I pointed out in my previous post, on the topic of LOLAR and oil, one of Rose’s other grist types, limestone, is commonly associated with oil, and commonly contains oil and gas pockets within it. this is because limestone, like oil, is derived from living organisms, being composed from calcium carbonate, found in living organisms and their skeletons.

all of LOLAR’s main grist types come from limestone; chalk is a variety of it, and marble forms when limestone metamorphoses under extreme heat and pressure.

so basically, while LOLAR’s grist doesn’t necessarily have an obvious source on LOWAS, it comes from the same place as LOWAS’ fossil-fuel themed grist types, forming another connection between the two lands. amber is similar, but it comes from dead plants rather than animals - like tar, another of LOWAS’ grist types.
