God, and the entire mainstream of “classpecting” is built around this same philosophy of treating symbology as an objective science, which I think pretty well explains why I have such a hard time grasping it. The whole point of something like Homestuck’s aspects is that they are purely abstract matter that can be shaped into any form required of them, but so often we see people describing the aspects by what they “are” rather than what they “represent”. Blood doesn’t “represent” bonds and consistency, it “is” the aspect of bonds and consistency, and a Hero of Blood “does” certain things with bonds and consistency, rather than relating to bonds and consistency in a variable way
