(first anon) He really does complain about how long his own comic is in the recaps, doesn't he? He absolutely adds a ton of extraneous stuff to his comic that he knows shouldn't be there. (I still 100% agree with you on union jack or whatever being lord english, though.)

obviously I would be insane to deny that Homestuck is bloated with things that don’t necessarily need to be there, but again, that is not to say that the extraneous elements don’t serve their own individual purposes, and it is not the same thing as adding things “on a whim”
