just to be clear I’m not really interested in any interpretation where Beforus is “just as bad” as Alternia but under a guise of woke language or whatever, primarily because this narrative only really rises to the forefront if you take everything Kankri says as gospel, which I think misses the point of Kankri as a character. certainly Beforus won’t have been totally without its own problems, but seeing it as a relatively utopian, or at the very least a relatively normal society is essential to The Point of Lord English and his corruption of reality
