it’s kind of unstated fact that characters in Homestuck can’t literally pilot each other around like robots, they can only influence each other’s actions by influencing the narrative and nudging them in one director or the other. this is even true of the Condesce, who only really brings out parts of Jane and Jade that they might not otherwise show; even though the Condesce is using the exact same powers Vriska used to seemingly get people to do exactly what she wanted. which is a train of thought that always leads to the pretty unfortunate implications that, say, Sollux really wanted to kill his girlfriend, or that Tavros really wanted to jump off that cliff
