Pose as a team. The world is real.

noticing a deeper significance to Problem Sleuth’s final words in the wake of that last post; as a sort of Homestuck prototype, Problem Sleuth shares in Homestuck’s Plato-paraphrased philosophy that what is good is that which is “true”, or real. but “The world is real” is also another way of saying “SHIT JUST GOT REAL”; which is to say that an escape from the world of fiction into the “real world” is not an escape from all problems, but rather an escape from contrived video game problems into the world of real problems. like, say, divorce, infidelity, and the rise of fascism in the American democracy, as Homestuck’s epilogues would go on to demonstrate

somewhat unrelated but this is the main thing that made me very confident that homestuck’s ending was about escaping the constraints of the story when I first read

Like, I feel like it’s so neat (in a tidy sense) that both major MSPA’s have the same ending with the ps gang finally escaping MK’s imagination dungeon and the HS gang finally escaping LE’s imagination dungeon

(if you oversimplify it)

yes! PS even features stories-within-stories that act as diversions from the characters’ true goal of escape in the form of games which Death forces his guests to play!
