finally putting all my thoughts re: Roxy and Meenah into words has clarified my understanding on a lot of things. I’ve already rambled a bit on my other blog about the new light this puts the younger Meenah in, but I also feel like I get Jasprosesprite^2 now in a way that ties a neat bow over all of the Act 6 sprites I was never able to see until now.

the Arquius sprite fusion sets the reader up for the idea that Nepeta is the component required to turn Dave into the “Ultimate” Dave - if Equius and Dirk were destined to be spiritually one, then it follows that the subjects of their paternalistic control would also be conceptually of a piece with one another. but by understanding Jaspersprite as the ghostly image of Roxy’s lost baby, we observe that Jasprose and Davepeta are perfect parallels in this respect; where Davepeta is both of Dirk’s* “little bros” in union, Jasprose is also Roxy’s dead children reunited! (but of course malo figured this latter part out 6 years before me.)
