While I know that canonically John/Jane’s town is in Northern Washington, I always like to pretend the coordinates are off and they’re a bit further north and live in BC. Six of the eight kids being American in a story about The Earth always sat wrong with me and since I also headcanon the Crockerberts as Asian, I love the idea of them fitting into the large Asian community in the area around Vancouver.
