dave just finding casual ways to constantly touch karkat, like reaching over him at dinner or bumping together while walking somewhere, slowly sitting closer and closer to him during movie nights, working right next to him in can town so their elbows bump now and then, or sitting back to back, constantly teasing him by snatching stuff away from him and holding it hostage so karkat tries to wrestle it back (books… lots of books.)
karkat picking up on this because he’s not an idiot and overanalyzing it and knowing that if it were anyone else he’d be shouting at them to just get in a quadrant already but because it’s him he just isn’t sure and ??! karkat constantly sneaking looks over at dave with his brows wrinkled like he’s trying to solve a puzzle and dave pretending like he doesn’t notice but every time it happens he starts to sweat, what does that look mean, what is he thinking, what am *I* thinking, what the fuck is happening ………..
