They’re both pretty subby, but karkat is slightly more switchy/willing to top so he usually does when I write them. Plus I just… really like bottom dave?? Like please give this boy the care and attention he needs. I think karkat would really like that feeling of taking care of dave like that too, it’s more about satisfying him that way then any real dom feelings, and once they’ve had some practice it’d really be a lot about that sense of accomplishment at knowing exactly how to take dave a p a r t.

DIRKJAKE -
so my opinion on this is that jake has literally NO preference, he just likes sex, everything feels good and he’s open to trying all sorts of stuff? He’s fine with the idea of dirk being in control but he’s also 100% fine with directing things himself, and I also think of him as the type of person who like starts out with an idea of what they want to do and then just gets totally carried away and by the end he looks back and blushes furiously and is like I SAID/DID WHAT??? OH GOSH ._.
As for Dirk I see him as 100% sub, like this boy worships at the altar of dick ok. Unless Jake is specifically asking for something else Dirk’s assumption and preference is that he’s bottoming and the other person’s pleasure is kind of more important than his own? Like I think Dirk gets off more on seeing Jake get off with him than any explicit thing being done directly to him. Oh and I also hc dirk as liking to give oral more than any other sexual activity, specifically giving, that’s his favorite thing. this one is fun because I actually think of them as having this dynamic where like… Kanaya thinks she’s subbier than she actually is, like Kanaya thinks she’s 100% ok with being dommed and goes into things like hell yeah rose lay me down in your human bed and fuck me!! but when they get INTO IT, she’s actually kinda pushy and domineering and no do this no do it this way move a little more like that, so kind of like a bossy bottom I guess? And ROSE is like, she thinks she’s 100% DOM, I always hc rose as having Issues with wanting to be in control at all times, but it’s interesting because as much as she would enjoy retaining control of the situation and having perfect agency over the proceedings I think what really would make her lose her shit is having to relinquish that control and accept whatever she’s given instead of whatever she’s demanding? Like that would be so legitimately affecting to her and she would h a t e how much she likes it after she experiences it but end up lowkey wanting it all the time.
So what I’m saying is that after they progress to a certain level of comfort with each other I see kanaya catching on to this and giving in to her dommier tendencies and taking control more and their sex life slowly levels up from “good and satisfying” to “MIND BLOWING (but if anyone finds out I will die)”

Roxy to me is 100% dom and John is 100% sub. I think the thing I like most about my interpretation of their dynamic is that Roxy is a 10/10 smokin’ hot fox and John is like a 6/10 average but cleans up nice sort of guy? Like Roxy just reads as an extremely sexual person to me so I think she’d want to move things fast, probably almost TOO fast for John, who I hc as a late bloomer who took longer than average to develop a sense of what he finds attractive, sex drive, etc.
So I think at the start they have this dynamic where Roxy is the one pushing things along and initiating and John figures out along the way that he likes having the pressure of that sort of thing taken off him and is more than happy to do as directed.
